Bitcoin Bytes
- Federal Crypto Guide : The White House is set to publish a comprehensive cryptocurrency policy report by late July 2025. It will cover Bitcoin regulation, stablecoin rules, and how federal agencies should approach digital assets in a transparent, balanced way.
- Mining Network Shift : Bitcoin’s global mining landscape is changing. Large mining firms are consolidating, with the top four now generating nearly 20% of block rewards. At the same time, some energy-intensive operations paused or downsized, especially in heat-affected U.S. regions like Texas.
- Lightning Pilot Launch: Square (Block Inc.) began a pilot on July 23, 2025, enabling select merchants to accept Bitcoin payments via the Lightning Network using their existing point‑of‑sale systems. This allows near-instant payments without new hardware. Expansion is expected in 2026.
Global Crypto News
- CoinDCX Bounty: India’s CoinDCX faced a major internal security breach on July 21, losing around $44 million from an operational—not customer—account. In response, they launched a recovery bounty of up to $11 million, inviting ethical hackers and blockchain experts to help trace and recover the stolen funds.
- Acts on Deck: Alongside the GENIUS Act, two other crypto laws moved through the U.S. House between July 21–25: the Clarity Act, which assigns crypto supervision to the CFTC instead of the SEC, and the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act, which opposes a government-issued digital dollar. These bills aim to reinforce privacy and bring clarity to crypto regulation.
- Secure Wallet Launch: On July 23, Telegram rolled out a built‑in crypto wallet within its messaging app, starting with U.S. users. This makes it easier for people to manage digital assets—especially those on Telegram’s own TON blockchain.
In the IC
- Dev Activity Leader: Despite broader market weakness, ICP maintained the highest development activity across all crypto projects, according to GitHub data. This shows the community remains actively building tools and infrastructure.
- Privacy Protocol Upgrade: VetKeys Launch Support – While introducing Caffeine, DFINITY also shared that it has activated the vetKeys privacy protocol. This adds extra safeguards around sensitive data on ICP, enhancing security for identity smart contracts and user interactions.

How Bitfinity holds on to Bitcoin.

A Matter of Opinion
As global crypto regulation takes shape—from the GENIUS Act to anti-CBDC measures—it’s becoming clear that decentralized ecosystems must prepare for a future of greater transparency, identity protections, and cross-chain utility. Bitfinity sits at a unique intersection: a Bitcoin-secured, Ethereum-compatible layer powered by Internet Computer’s infrastructure. That means it’s not just building on top of Bitcoin—it’s evolving how digital assets can operate under increasing legal scrutiny without compromising on decentralization. The activation of privacy-focused protocols like vetKeys and support for real-time interoperability positions Bitfinity to adapt without losing its technical edge. At the same time, developments like Telegram’s wallet rollout signal that user-friendly, embedded crypto is going mainstream. Balancing innovation with responsibility will define not just Bitfinity’s future, but the future of usable, ethical crypto.
